ROBIN'S VOWS

Tim, you are the love of my life and my best friend.

On this day, I promise to love you. Not that I already don’t. . . But. . . I promise to love you when we are happy and when we are not, when you decide to work outside in your new clothes, when you snore through the night denying me my beauty sleep, and even when I have to cook dinner after working all day.  My love will stay constant through all those blessed moments of togetherness.

With you, I feel safer than ever. I know that you will protect me when I need protecting and will have my back when I insist on taking care of myself.

I have never liked a voice as much as I like yours, and I wish to hear it every day. . . even when you’re grumpy and sarcastic.

I’ve never found someone who makes me laugh and who understands my weirdness and my humor as much as you.  I wish to giggle with you every day even when everyone else looks at us like we are 12.

I promise to be your co-pilot, your navigator, and to always bring snacks on our road trip through life. Wherever we go, we'll go together. I promise to love, honor, and cherish you through all life's adventures…even when I complain about your driving.

I vow not to continue watching a tv series we started together after you’ve gone to bed. Or. . .  I'll at least pretend it’s the first time I’ve watched it when we watch it again, because you are the one I want to binge watch tv with forever…even when its the science channel and not true crime.

I promise to not get too caught up in petty arguments, even when i’m right…and… even when you claim you don’t remember what I said, because our relationship is much more meaningful than that. I promise that as your wife, I will not keep score

. . .  even though I am totally winning.

I promise to turn on the air conditioning when you are hot, even if I am totally freezing and you want it to feel like the arctic tundra.

I want us to grow old and decrepit together, to shake our fists at teenagers, and to talk endlessly about the old days when things were better, cheaper, and more wholesome.

I promise to love you at all times - even during football season and while you play fantasy football.  Smh.

From this day forward, I vow to make the most of every moment we have together on this earth.  Let's take the road less traveled and tell it’s great stories, the same ones - for ever. . . until no one can stand us but each other.

When I hold your face in my hands or lean into your shoulder to feel you hold me, I know you are the place I am meant to be for all time. You are my person.

Today, I give myself to you in marriage. I promise to encourage and inspire you, to laugh with you, and to comfort you in times of sorrow and struggle.

I promise to love you in good times and in bad, when life seems easy and when it seems hard, when our love is simple, and when it is an effort. I promise to cherish you and to always choose you. Today and forever, I give you my heart, my soul, and my trust, no matter what our future may bring.

I love you with my whole heart and with a passion that can't be expressed in words, only in kisses, glances, and years of adventure by your side.

"I’ve looked around enough to know that you’re the one I want to go through time with."

I am yours and you are mine.

Forever and always.

TIM'S VOWS

Today I join my life to yours, not simply as your husband, but as your friend, your lover, and your biggest fan.

You have taught me that two people joined together with respect, trust, and open communication can be stronger and happier than each could be alone.

You are the strength I didn't know I needed and the joy that I didn't know I lacked.

Today, our hearts begin beating together as one, and I love you with all of mine.

You're my love, my light, and my soulmate.

You're the person that keeps me smiling, and laughing.

I give you this ring as a sign of my love that's forever, and ever, always.

I vow to always put you first, even during football season.

I promise to never keep score, even when I'm clearly winning.

When I say, "I do” I don't mean the dishes.

I pledge to listen to your advice, and…occasionally take it

I'll conclude with this poem by Jason Robert Brown, entitled "The Last Five Years:"

"Will you share your life with me

For the next ten minutes?

For the next ten minutes

We can handle that

We could watch the waves

We could watch the sky

Or just sit and wait

As the time ticks by

And if we make it till then

Can I ask you again

For another ten?"
